Tess Howat

I was born in Connecticut and raised in the social media generation, observing unprecedented technological change while seeking to maintain a strong real-world purpose through various creative outlets.

I spent two years studying English and Marketing at Skidmore College before transferring to the University of Connecticut, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in English (Creative Writing Focus) and Communication.

A lifelong writer and songwriter, I've fostered a uniquely creative skillset and true love of sharp, strong communication that reminds us of our shared humanity. I believe in the power of the written word in all settings, both personal and professional. In our screen-centric world, good writing can brighten our digital day-to-day, making the impersonal feel personal. 
 
From print music journalism and blogs on sustainability to website copy and social media ghostwriting, I've gained writing and copywriting experience in a variety of forms and fields. I've since applied my writing and marketing skills to my role at Partner in Publishing, an education technology consulting company where I collaborate with K-12 and higher-ed faculty and market leaders to simplify and improve teaching and learning experiences nationwide.
